Introducing the new Pure Desire Partnership

What is a Pure Desire Partnership?

The Pure Desire mission statement is clear, "To help build Christ-centered healing communities to equip the local church to effectively deal with the sexual bondages and addictions of our day." Developing Pure Desire Partnerships is a way for everyone to participate in bringing sexual healing to their communities by developing Pure Desire in their denominations or community of churches.

Ted first spoke of these partnerships at a huge men's conference held in the Portland area in January. He introduced the idea of 'Champions' - men and women who would help prepare and train leaders to be instrumental in supporting Pure Desire at a more local level.

Some benefits of partnering with Pure Desire are:

Access to PDMI University and Sexy Christian Conference
Telephone conference access to the entire PDMI staff
Priority access to counseling for morally fallen leaders

By becoming a Partner, PDMI will help you to:

Develop small groups - For Men Only (FMO) for men and For Women Only (FWO) for women
Register for and attend a PDMI University within a year
Engage your Senior Pastor as a proactive advocate of this ministry

Baker to publish Ted and Diane's new Sexy Christians book

A publisher has been found!

Baker Books has picked up Sexy Christians, which will be released in early 2010. In the meantime, Ted and Diane are hard at work putting together a companion workbook - that manuscript must be turned in by April. The workbook in progress will be published at the same time as the book Sexy Christians.

Finding this publisher is an answer to our prayers! Please continue to pray with us for Ted and Diane as they complete the development of this cutting edge resource for churches around the world.

Six nations represented at PDMI University in Virginia

The latest PDMI University held in January in Virginia was an international success!

Forty-two people from six different nations attended and, with the varied cultures, it could have been a train wreck. But Ted, Diane and Harry were able to present the material in a way that ministered to all. The participants were able to walk away with the knowledge and tools they need to minister to others that are struggling with sexual issues.

The three diverse cultures represented a vastly different reaction to the sessions. Marc Gale looked around the room at the end of one particular session on how healing occurs in one's lives. He commented that his lasting recollection of this would be the Dutch - whose faces were deadly serious as they remained in deep thought; the Latinos - who were in tears; and the Americans who were somewhere in between.

In attendance were also four of Foursquare's National Leaders - Piet Brinksma from the Netherlands, Serafin Contreras from South America and Paul Otembra from Central America and George Butron from Singapore.

Ted has finished all of his training and will be soon receiving his certification as a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist. Thanks to this training, he was able to take brain neuro-chemistry and explain it in a way that the Pure Desire leader can integrate the clinical and the spiritual in developing this ministry in their churches.

Pure Desire en Espanol

Core PDMI materials translated, international audience expanding

The Pure Desire book, Pure Desire Workbook and the Betrayed Heart Workbook have now been translated into Spanish. Thousands of people worldwide will be able to read it for themselves and use it in their classes. And, the Dutch translation is now in progress. Regal Books is planning to translate and publish the Korean version of Pure Desire because it is so desperately needed in the South Korean culture.

South Africa beckons Pure Desire

Pastor Xavier Adriaanse opening doors across sub-Saharan continent

For the past few years, Pastor Xavier Adriaanse has been working to establish the Restoration Ministries in Cape Town, South Africa.

In March, Ted and Diane will travel to Cape Town to bring several churches together and begin to deal with the deep sexual issues at work in Africa. Pray for them and their travels as they take the message of Pure Desire to the African continent for the very first time!
